Owned by the non-profit organization and the oldest women’s club in Santa Clara County, We and Our Neighbors, the San José Clubhouse is a historical clubhouse dating back to 1910 that serves as a community hall for hosting educational and social activities, as well as private celebrations such as weddings and receptions. Located on the corner of Union Avenue and Los Gatos-Almaden Road in South Bay, the building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is a San José historical Landmark. Beautifully appointed, quaintly furnished and full of historic elegance, the San José Clubhouse has been perfectly preserved to retain its original character with a brick-red exterior that exudes American Craftsman beauty combined with an Old World sophistication and style. A built-in stage offers a dramatic spot for exchanging vows, and gleaming hardwood floors make the perfect dance floor. Stained glass fixtures and an ornate stonework fireplace add distinctive character to the hall’s elegant ballroom allowing guests to celebrate in classic style.
Amenities & Services
The San José Clubhouse can accommodate up to 80 guests for seated dinner receptions or standing cocktail gatherings. Facilities and services include a dance floor, a podium or a stage for announcements or vow renewals, a coat check room, tables and chairs, a grand piano, full kitchen facilities for catering purposes, and a large parking lot with ample free parking for guests. Other amenities available to use with the rental of the venue include a dressing room for the bride and the groom, a large screen and projector, a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, an anteroom, and modern restrooms, including an ADA bathroom.
A list of preferred caterers can be supplied on request, or guests may bring their own food and drinks. Wine, beer in bottles and cans and champagne can be served, however, event liability insurance is required and must include 'Host Liquor Liability.' A security officer will be on site throughout the event.
The San José Clubhouse is located at 15480 Union Avenue in San José, is wheelchair accessible and provides plenty of private parking for guests. San José is packed with things to see and do from beautiful architectural landmarks and historical sites to numerous art galleries, museums, and many excellent restaurants, cafés, and bars. Top attractions not to be missed include the beautifully preserved Italianate-style Oddfellows building and Spanish Colonial Revival structures in the downtown historic district, the modern Tech Museum of Innovation, the San Jose Museum of Art and the Children's Discovery Museum. For a day of family fun, head to California's Great America amusement park in nearby Santa Clara and blow off some steam or eat a good meal at Santana Row.
