The building was originally built as a stable for the Southern Express Company and once housed horses that were used to haul freight cross-country on wagons. Later on, it was used as a garage and truck depot, a furniture warehouse, and a tour bus station. Today the unique space is used for a variety of events including weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and more. There is a 6,000-square-foot ballroom that can hold up to 400 seated guests. The 2,000-square-foot bar area is the perfect place for a cocktail hour and can hold 200 standing. Savannah Station has event staff to help organize the details of your event.

19.Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum is a museum dedicated to 18th and 19th-century ships and includes model ships, artwork, and artifacts related to the time period. The museum’s exhibits are housed inside the Scarbrough House, which is the historic home of William Scarbrough, who used to be one of the main owners of the Steamship Savannah as well as the president of the local steamship company. The home is surrounded by beautifully and carefully planted gardens, which are available for rentals. Renters can choose between two garden spaces that feature catering facilities and a 5,400-square-foot covered, open-air assembly room space.

The Gastonian is an award-winning, luxury bed and breakfast a few short blocks from Savannah’s Forsyth Park. The property comprises two connected luxury Italian-style mansions built in the 1860s. The Gastonian offers a selection of wedding packages to choose from. The smallest package is the Elopement Package, which includes an intimate ceremony in the parlor or garden courtyard with room for either just the couple or up to four guests. The house is officially named the Asendorf House after its original owner. However, its beautiful Steamboat Gothic architecture may cause one to imagine they’ve stepped inside the pages of a storybook. The home is located in the middle of the Victorian District and is nestled among beautiful, century-old oak trees. The interior furnishings exude Victorian charm, which is perfect for photographs. There is even a beautiful fireplace, where couples often choose to exchange vows. There is a conservatory-style ballroom, which is great for use as a reception venue, as well as an outdoor space that can also be used.

The Mackey House is a historic farmhouse located on an old plantation in Savannah. The site has an interesting history as it was an encampment for Confederate soldiers at one point and was later occupied by troops from the Union army. The land was later named Red Gate Farms. Today the home is open for tours and also hosts private events. The main house has a 4,000-square-foot deck, which can be used for events. There is also an idyllic pond-side area that can be used for a ceremony or reception space as well as beautiful gardens that have an adjacent outdoor pavilion that is able to host events all year round.
