Located in Mukilteo, Washington, the Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour aims to ignite a deep passion for aerospace and engineering among visitors of all ages. Museum visitors can expect to find world-class educational programs, interactive exhibitions, and an exciting tour of the aviation center. In November 2004, the Future of Flight and Aviation center had begun being built by the Howard S. Wright company.

History

The project consisted of more than 70,000 square feet and included a 28,000-square foot gallery, a rooftop observation deck, a café, a gift shop, the Boeing Tour center, and various office spaces. The project was named “The Best Public/Private Project of 2005” by Northwest Construction magazine.

The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing tour was officially opened in December 2005 by the Boeing Company; however, a non-profit organization operates the facility itself. The facility opening consisted of many various events including Boeing Day which was especially for Boeing employees, an educator’s preview, and a contractor’s evening. The official ribbon cutting ceremony included Governor Christine Gregoire as one of the honored attendees.

Since it’s opening almost 15 years ago, the Future of Flight and Aviation Center has welcomed millions of visitors from around the world. The center itself has already undergone some renovations and the future of the facility is nothing but bright.
