Pazo de Xelmirez, or the Palace of Gelmirez, is the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela’s former episcopal palace. It was built between 1120 and 1136 by the then archbishop of Santiago, Diego Gelmirez, and can be found on the north side of the cathedral. Presently, only the tower gate, the grammatics gate, and the grandstand door still stand from the original structure.
