Zest is a stylish over-21 restaurant and bar in Salt Lake City that was established in 2012 by owner/operator Casey Staker. A vegetarian himself, Casey opened Zest with a mission to make a difference to the city's limited number of healthy restaurants. The restaurant's menu offers vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free fares of organic origin as the diner's food philosophy is “eat organic & drink organic.”
The restaurant also features an innovative fresh juice cocktail bar that uses fresh ingredients like beet, berries, lemonade, organic green juice, and others from the kitchen. Zest also features the largest selection of organic wines, spirits, and beers in Utah.
Zest Kitchen & Bar is open on all 7 days of a week, Monday through Thursday from 11:00am to 10:00pm, Fridays from 11:00am to 11:00pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 11:00pm and on Sundays the restaurant is open between 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm and on Friday brunch is served from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
The restaurant serves lunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Dinner menu is served Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm and on Friday and Sunday dinner is served from 4:00pm to 11:00pm.
Brunch - Features house-made cheese biscuits, hot quinoa cereal, vegan chickpea omelet, ruga pancakes, savory chickpea pancake, Greek omelet, and Billy’s Favorite made with barbacoa mushrooms, potatoes, veggies, salsa, cashew sour cream, and guacamole. The brunch menu also offers best-in-town fresh juice mimosas including of beet-apple ginger, orange-basil, grapefruit, and a special green juice of the day.
Lunch - Includes salads, small plates, entrees, and brunch items similar to brunch menu. The menu also consists of fresh smoothies, fresh cold-pressed juice, Signature Sippers, Happy Hydrators, and local loose-leaf hot teas.
Dinner - Consists of sharing plates, salads and soup, entrees, and additions like house-made cheese sauce, cashew cheese, herb goat cheese or beehive cheddar, grilled oyster mushrooms, and flatbread. The dinner menu also offers fresh cold-pressed juice, Signature Sippers, Happy Hydrators, and local loose-leaf hot teas
Bar - The bar menu offers signature cocktails, beers, wines, non-alcoholic beverages, and spirits like vodka, tequila, whiskey and bourbon, gin, rum, Scotch, and others.
Zest Kitchen & Bar's dine-in reservations are powered by the Yelp online application, which accepts table reservations for up to 18 people. Events and groups consisting of 20 people or more must contact Casey on 801-859-8505 for reservations. The only requirement is that everyone in the group must be aged 21 and above.
Zest space is available 7 days a week for event bookings ranging from corporate gatherings to birthday parties. Available spaces include the upper dining are, bar and lounge, and entire restaurant buyout.
Zest Kitchen accepts online orders for delivery, which are fulfilled by the Grubhub food delivery service. The restaurant also accepts orders for take-out group plates and offsite catering. Guests get to choose from a separate catering menu.
