Brighton is a small community located up Big Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah with the population of just 260. The community grew around the popular Brighton Ski Resort and sees thousands of visitors during the ski season and quite many during the warmer seasons when the area is great for hiking in the surrounding Wasatch–Cache National Forest and fishing on the Silver Lake. The area has rich history that started at the late 19th century during the silver mining boom. The popular rustic Silver Fork Lodge and Restaurant occupies the site of the former general store that used to serve silver miners. CDC information for travelers. Hours/availability may have changed.
