Community Pie in Chattanooga wears its influences and passions on its sleeve and these are pizza, beer, and ice cream. When it opened in 2013, the restaurant was created purely to explore and experiment with these three core principles. They get the ice cream local, as a homemade gelato from sister restaurant Milk and Honey. The pizza they make in house following the traditional Neapolitan style, making the dough by hand and cooking it in a traditional wood oven imported directly from Italy. Some believe that it was in America that the art of the pizza was truly perfected, though, and the restaurant also serves New York-style pizza available by the slice or as a whole pie. You can expect thin crusts, big flavors, and experimental toppings on the New York-style slices, all baked to perfection in special deck ovens.
The third point of the trinity is the beer, and you can pair your pie with one of their 40 craft beers, all of which are available on draft. If that wasn’t enough, the well-stocked bar serves ciders, imports, domestics, and other canned and bottled goods. The stunning selection of beers is complemented well by a range of fine wines served by glass and bottle and an interesting and constantly evolving cocktail list sure to tickle any fancy.
The goal of the restaurant is to bring back the art of sharing, and the menu is specifically designed to help the customer order a little bit of everything and share with their fellow diners around the spacious tables, bringing back the art of conversation and community.
