The airport was built with a single terminal to begin with, stretching up ten floors in height and surrounded by seven satellite buildings, each with theri own gates. Paul Andreu, a famous French architect, was responsible for the design of Paris CDG airport. In the years that followed, additional terminals were built. Terminal 2 is broken up into several sub-terminals labeled 2A to 2G, while Terminal 3 has also been opened and is located over half a mile away from Terminal 1. There are plans in place for the construction of a fourth terminal, suitably named Terminal 4, which is set to be built over the course of the next decade.
