Schlitterbahn is more than seventy acres of relaxation, thrilling adventure, and family fun. Situated along the banks of the Comal River in New Braunfels, the park includes water playgrounds for children, world-famous attractions, stunning areas for a picnic or relaxation, and epic river adventures. Visitors can also choose to stay at the park overnight at The Resort at Schlitterbahn, which features cabins, hotel rooms, vacation homes, and Treehaus Suites. Guests who stay at the resort are offered Schlitterbahn exclusives, such as early access to attractions. Resort guests also have access to the Family Arcade, Swim-Up Bars, and the Boogie Bahn after the park closes.
There are numerous attractions at Schlitterbahn, ranging from relaxing pools to thrilling water coasters. Black Night is a completely enclosed water slide that sends guests down into eerie darkness on two-person inner tubes. Two tunnels made of black fiberglass start at six stories up and from there, riders enjoy twists and drops as they speed down more than 550 feet. Another attraction that can give visitors an adrenaline rush is Skycoaster, which gives guests the chance to "fly" over Blastenhoff by combining elements of hang gliding and skydiving.
Dragon's Revenge is Schlitterbahn's first generation uphill water coaster. The thrilling, unique coaster shoots riders downhill, uphill, and everything else like a regular roller coaster, but in water. The Wolfpack Raft Ride is a downhill, howling raft ride with turns and twists in a circular raft. The ride starts at the top of Blastenhoff Tower and descends five stories down through a series of drops, turns, and twists. Each raft can fit three people.
Schlitterbahn's Boogie Bahn Surfing Ride, the first surfing ride, simulates exciting ocean surfing through a continuously moving mountain of water. Using a body board, surfers can test their skill against 50,000 gallons of water every minute. The depth of the water is less than a foot and a foam covered surface underneath the water helps to cushion the occasional "wipe out." Along with the surfing ride, guests can enjoy Torrent River, where tidal waves break around each turn as riders journey along an endless river in the park's Blastenhoff area.
Kinderhaven at Schlitterbahn is designed for small children. It features a large, shallow wading pool complete with soft slides, a small pirate ship, water cannons, and a shaded section for the smallest kids to slash around. The water playground is located in the center of the action, but separated from the high-action attractions in the rest of the Blastenhoff area. Kinderhaven is surrounded by open areas for sun-lounging and shaded seating for parents to enjoy while the children play.
Schlitterbahn isn't just all action, there are also several attractions for relaxation, such as the Bamboozle Bay Heated Pool. The pool, situated under the Master Blaster, features a swim up bar where guests can a drink in the center of all the action. Visitors can also just relax in the heated pool and take a break in a beautiful setting. There are also two other heated pools, Boogie Bay and Dragon's Lair. Blastenhoff Beach is another area where guests can just relax and enjoy a sunny day.
