Situated in Williamson County in the central eastern part of the state, Georgetown is a large Texas city that currently houses over 64,000 people. It's 30 miles outside of Austin and is perhaps best known for its beautiful Victorian architecture, with dozens of structures on the National Register of Historic Places. The city of Georgetown is also home to the oldest university in the Lone Star State - Southwestern Universiy - which was founded back in 1840.
