Built in 1892, the Old Red Museum boasts grand architecture and design with elegant entryways of marble and stone and a soaring four-story staircase for unforgettable entrances. The beautifully preserved building features a Great Hall with 20-foot ceilings strung with chandeliers, graceful arches and entryways, and traditional Victorian hues and can accommodate up to 300 guests for seated dinner and dancing receptions and up to 400 guests for standing cocktail receptions and buffet-style gatherings.
Next to the Great Hall are two smaller rooms which are ideal for intimate ceremonies. The Hatton W. Sumners Courtroom has been lovingly restored to its former glory and can accommodate up to 120 guests for a service, while the Restoration Room can be found in one of the building’s turrets and can host a party for up to 250 guests.
The fourth floor of the building is home to a private bridal suite where the bride and her party can relax and get ready before the big day, and the museum level provides an elegant, open-plan space for appetizers and cocktails.
Services included with the rental of the venue are the set-up and clean-up of the site, lighting and sound equipment, liability insurance, and an event planning team to take care of all the details. Parking is available in a county-owned parking garage beneath the museum and valet parking can be arranged, and security is provided by the venue.
