The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area covers almost 2000 acres of bottomland forests and tallgrass prairies, with the Trinity River running through. The area is snuggled in the soft rolling hills near Lewisville, Texas, just beneath the Lewisville Dam. The non-profit organization that manages the area has a mission to preserve, protect and restore the native habitat and rich biodiversity of the area, to provide environmental education; and conduct environmental research. 2.The Actors Conservatory Theatre
The Actors Conservatory Theatre is a volunteer nonprofit children’s theatre in Lewisville, Texas established in 1999. The theatre is known for producing a season of superb musical productions, quality family entertainment, a range of classes on all aspects of theatre production during the school year, and theatre camps during the summer and spring break. The Theater’s mission is to bring high quality classic literature to young people through plays and musicals, to incite interest and appreciation of the performing arts in children. 3.St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church

St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church is a parish in the Diocese of Fort Worth in Lewisville, Texas. In 1967, Catholic families in the Lewisville area started meeting for Mass and Religious Education and the pastor from St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Grapevine, Fr. Balthasar Szarka, said Mass. Mass was held in various churches in the neighborhood and at Central Elementary school, until the funds had been raised for a temporary church building. A pre-fabricated metal building on Jones Street was completed in 1970 and the St. Philip Benizi parish, later renamed St. Philip the Apostle, celebrated the first Mass in the new church. Fr. Joseph Scantlin, appointed in 1972, was the first pastor. The new church on the current property was completed in 1977, and served as the church until 1997, when the new church was completed. The old 1977 church now serves as the Community Life Center. .
