Unlike many of the other wineries in the area, the Carolina Bauernhaus Brewery & Winery specializes in craft meads, ciders, and ales made using traditional Belgian-inspired techniques. The beer is brewed using wild-harvested yeasts, and many of the other ingredients are sourced locally as well, including the grains, the malt, and even the fruits used to flavor the brews. Anyone interested in sampling a few beers or a glass of mead is encouraged to visit the taphouse, which is located in downtown Anderson and often hosts tastings, live music, trivia nights, and other special events.
