Located at the mouth of the Cooper River in Charleston Harbor, Patriot’s Point is a naval and maritime museum which offers a host of interesting activities for children (and adults). You can start your visit by taking a self-guided tour of the USS Yorktown – the route is well defined and the children will be able to get a good idea of what life was like for the naval officers during WWI. Children can have their photos taken in a submarine and the cockpit of a fighter plane. Other attractions include the Flight Academy simulators which put children from 6 years into the cockpit to experience what it is like to be a fighter pilot.
