Middleton Place is a living history museum which invites families to come and learn all about plantation life in the 1700’s. As you tour the many facets of the beautiful estate you and your children will learn about the Middleton family and the story of all the hundreds of enslaved people who lived on the farm prior to the Civil War.

Children will love the Stableyards, where they can see assorted farm animals and watch potters, blacksmiths, weavers and carpenters in action. You will learn about the lives of the slaves on the Beyond the Fields tour, while a tour of the House Museum will reveal the contrasting luxury home of the plantation owners. The beautiful landscaped gardens offer a great place for the children to run around and there are shops and a restaurant on site.
