If you are looking for something a little different to do that will get your children outdoors and active you should consider taking a stroll along Charleston’s hidden gem, the Gateway Walk. The peaceful walkway meanders through historic downtown Charleston, gradually making its way through several beautifully maintained gardens and historic cemeteries. As you make your way through a succession of gateways you will pass several of the city’s historic buildings such as the Gibbes Museum (and its’ sculpture courtyard), the Circular Church, the Charleston Library Society and Saint John’s Lutheran Church. The walkway is not entirely paved but is suitable for strollers and easy for younger children to navigate on foot.
