1.Gervais Street Bridge
The Gervais Street Bridge is one of the most historic and the most iconic bridges in Columbia, South Carolina, funneling traffic from the west into the Vista. Built from 1926 to 1928, the bridge stretches across more than 1,400 feet and was once the only way to cross the river within the city. The Gervais Street Bridge can be seen in many postcards for the city and the bridge was also listed on the National Register of HIstoric Places in 1980. While there are now three bridges that cross the Congaree River, the Gervais is the most decorative and oldest.

2.New Brookland Tavern

The New Brookland Tavern is the oldest continuously running music venue in the Columbia area, playing host to a wide variety of musical acts every night of the week in West Columbia, South Carolina. First opening in the early 1990’s, the tavern specializes in good times, drinks, and both national and local acts. The New Brookland Tavern presents live music every day of the year, including its annual New Year’s Eve show, rap battles, themed music nights, tribute bands, and more.
