Established in 1778 and once home to famous ship pilot, the historic Eldredge House is a charming bed and breakfast in Cape May that offers comfortable accommodations and a home-away-from-home ambiance. The Captains Quarters can be found on the second floor of the hotel.

Cape May offers a variety of attractions, activities and things to see and do throughout the year from shopping and fine dining to theater shows, art galleries, and beach combing. The Eldredge House is just a few blocks from the beautiful beach in Cape May, ranked as ‘one of the top ten prettiest beaches in the world.’ Guests have access to complimentary beach chairs and towels to use on the beach, which is also ideal for long walks, swimming, kayaking, and beachcombing. Another fantastic beach is Cape May Point Beach which is home to the historic Cape May Lighthouse and a perfect spot for watching the sunset. Cape May Point has a network of hiking and biking trails to enjoy and a national park to explore.

Theater lovers will delight in the choice of theaters to visits, including the Cape May Stage, the East Lynne Theater Company and Elaine's Dinner Theater, which presentsfun and enjoyableholiday-themed musicals. The Washington Street Mall boasts a wealth of shops, boutiques, antique stores and gift shops, while TreeHouse Antiques features over 3,000 square feet of space filled with beautiful antiques and garden décor.

Cape May Brewing Company is located a few miles outside of town and offers beer enthusiasts and brew-lovers a chance to taste some of the best beer and rootbeers in the region. There are plenty of vineyards that provide free winetasting and special events throughout the year too, such as Vineland.

Sports fans and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a game of tennis at the Cape May Tennis Club or a game of golf at one of several courses in the area. In July and August, a fantastic Farmers Market sells a variety of farm fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat, and seafood.
