Combining the romance of camping in the wilderness with the conveniences of a modern hotel room, Rafiki Safari Lodge’s four luxury safari tents are set atop hardwood platforms and feature large porches with rocking chairs and coffee tables, two single beds and one double bed, spacious tiled bathrooms with showers and electricity and fans. Two of the tents boast breathtaking views of the lake and valley below, one has bunk beds for children, and the fourth is a romantic honeymoon tent with a splash pool.

The Rafiki Beach Camp is set on the beautiful beach of Playa Matapalo, which is just 45 minutes away from the main lodge. This beach oasis has four luxury safari-style tents set around a large swimming pool with comfortable beds and bathrooms and direct access to the beach and beautiful ocean waters. Guests can enjoy a delicious continental breakfast every morning, followed by an array of water-based activities, such as kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, and beach combing. All meals are included with a stay at the Main Lodge, including several options for breakfast, which features fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Lunch features options from an á la carte menu. Dinner consists of a South African braai (barbecue) which includes fresh salads, soups, grilled meats and vegetables cooked on an open fire and other wonderfully spiced dishes. Rafiki Safari Lodge offers a ‘Lekker Bar and Braai’ where outdoor meals can be enjoyed over an open fire. Rafiki Safari Lodge features a variety of amenities and services to enhance guests’ stay, including all meals (Main Lodge guests) and breakfast (Beach Lodge guests), hammocks in which to relax, and a variety of activities, including guided white water rafting, horseback riding, and hiking trips and massages. Other activities and adventures include visiting the Manuel Antonio National Park, Marino Ballena National Park or Hacienda Baru Private Reserve, or enjoying surfing lessons, or zip-lining tours.

Explore the realm of the rainforest on guided hiking trails; glide across the treetops on zip lines, or take a refreshing dip in one of the many cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools that give life to the forest. Attractions in the area include the beautiful Matapalo Beach, which is just 45 minutes away from the main lodge and offers beach camping. The beach is home to several small hotels and restaurants and is ideal for outdoor activities such as kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, and beachcombing. The Manuel Antonio / Quepos area is one of the country’s most famous regions and is home to the Manuel Antonio National Park, which has an array of incredible wildlife and pristine beaches. Activities in the area include deep-sea fishing, snorkeling trips, zip-line (canopy) tours, and a vibrant nightlife.
