There is no restaurant on-site at The Shooting Star RV Resort, as most guests prefer cooking their own meals within their RV's. However, there is a snack booth set up for movie nights at the drive-in for anyone looking for some drinks or munchies on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings.
Just a short drive into the town of Escalante, guests will find a number of restaurants and cafes which serve up a variety of foods and styles from simple coffee shops to burger joints and pizza grill restaurants. When guests choose not to cook, finding an alternative will not be difficult.
Although there is no bar or lounge for guests to visit at The Shooting Star RV Resort, a good time isn't far away with the town being only a two minute ride away. Cowboy Blues is a restaurant which has delicious margaritas and tapas on order. They are opened until 10 p.m. daily and not only serve up a variety of drinks, also have a full menu. There is live entertainment provided some weekend evenings as well.
The Shooting Star RV Resort is the perfect place for a family vacation. Not only is it affordable, but guests can opt to bring their own RV or rent a themed RV right at the resort. There is no extra packing required if renting an RV. It is also cost effective in that families can cook up their own meals in the comfort of their own space and enjoy many outdoor activities.
Families will also love the drive-in movies shown Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings. For an additional $20, a classic car can be reserved for seating in style. Snacks can be purchased at the concession booth.
Families will be happy to know that some of the Airstream RV's are pet-friendly, so the furry members of the family are welcome to visit as well.
The resort strives to preserve the natural environment surrounding their property. Provided in every Airstream RV are eco-friendly bath products with a mind for being kind to the environment while using bath amenities.
With the resort being in such close proximity to the Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument, guests will love the different levels of hiking awaiting them. There are some easy hikes, as well as some good climbs for those interested in something a little more intense. Guests can also drive along Smokey Mountain Road which will take them into the heart of Grand Staircase where further exploration can be done into hidden rock canyons. Guests will also fall in love with the stunning view for miles atop the Kaiparowits Plateau which is a 50 mile mountain top.
Following Hole-in-the-Rock Road will take guests to Peek-a-Boo Canyon and Spooky Slot Canyon. Guests will also enjoy exploring a different era at the Jurassic Dinosaur Track Site or they can check out Devil's Garden with amazing rock formations.
Guests can inquire with the resort staff about anything from ATV rentals to guided outings and they are always happy to help and point them along in the right direction for a day of fun.
