Inn Walden offers 23 different suites. Room features include flat-screen LCD and HDTVs, Kashwere bathrobes to lounge in, walk-in closets, Keurig coffee machines with complimentary coffees and teas, fully stocked honor bars with different liquors, soft drinks, and snacks, WI-FI and complimentary breakfast and evening hor d’oeuvres.

The five suites guests can choose from include the Bridal, Loft, Pyramid, Equestrian, and Walden suites. All suites except the Walden suite have fireplaces and whirlpool baths. The largest and most cherished suite is the Bridal suite. A glass garden atrium leads guest to their 1,500- square- foot suite which includes an expansive bedroom, sitting area, and its very own secluded patio overlooking a beautiful garden. Guests of the Bridal suite can also bathe in an elegant pavilion. For those guests looking for the largest and most serene room, ask for the Bridal suite.

 

The Loft suite is another suite guests can choose to stay in. Sky-lit stairs guide the way to this second floor retreat. For more of a tree house yet modern vibe, ask for this suite. The 1250 –square- foot Loft suite has wood ceiling, charming dormers, a separate living room, en-suite bath, and large windows offering views of the surrounding horse pastures and garden.

There is also the pyramid suite, called a pyramid because the ceiling does in fact form a pyramid shape with its vaulted cedar ceiling. Stay in the Pyramid suite for the best panoramic view of the Western Reserve.

The fourth option is the Equestrian suite which is the most spa like suite of them all with mellow colors and open floor plan. This suite also has a walk-in shower with five shower head controls for an invigorating shower experience and an air bath tub which is a perfect spot to rest after a massage. After washing up, grab a good book and warm up by the ensuite fireplace.

Lastly, guests can choose to stay in the Walden suite. The Walden suite includes a cozy sleeping area, luxury bath with a makeup table, and garden views.

 

There are three restaurants at or near Walden. These restaurants include The Barn, Blue Ribbon Café, and The Club. For an elegant romantic dinner with that special someone, make a reservation at the Barn. The Barn is Walden’s signature gourmet dining room located 5 minutes off-site. The restaurant is found in a 175-year-old restored barn and offers an array of unique appetizers and entrees as well as an extensive wine and desert menu. Dishes include goat cheese and fresh herb ravioli, roast filet of Atlantic salmon, and lobster ravioli with lobster sauce. Jackets and dressy clothing is required at the Barn.

For breakfast and brunch, head over to Blue Ribbon Café. The café serves breakfast daily and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Blue Ribbon Café features new and classic American cuisine which includes open-faced omelets and Buckwheat pancakes served with apples and local maple syrup.

 

For a casual lunch and dinner, head off-site to Club Walden. Club Walden overlooks the golf course and serves pizza, salads, grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and sandwiches. Attire for Club Walden is smart casual, meaning guests should look neat and well-kept but are welcome to wear relatively informal clothing.

In case guests don’t feel like venturing out, meals from The Barn, The Blue Ribbon Café, and Club Walden can be delivered and enjoyed in ones suite. The Inn also provides complimentary rides to and from both Club Walden and The Barn in Mercedes SUV.

Walden has one bar and lounge called the Bogey Bar. The Bogey bar is located right next to Club Walden and is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails and great conversation with other guests. Here guests will find an intimate fireplace and outside deck, which is a perfect place to wind down and enjoy the sunset in warmer months.

 

Inn Walden has private spa suites where highly trained staff offer signature spa and aesthetic dermatology treatments for women, men, couples, and small groups using state-of-the-art equipment and personal care products.

The spa includes two couples’ rooms with side-by-side treatment beds, bistro tables, a fireplace, and a large whirlpool tub and the Vichy and private suites.

The Vichy suite includes a wet room for the ultimate spa experience. While lying on the massage table, the water sprays from above and calms the body. For a different type of spa experience, try the Vichy suite. The other private suites include steam showers, whirlpools and high quality furnishings and seating areas next to windows. All spa appointments begin and end with 30 minutes of private time in the suite for extra relaxation time.

 

Walden has a recently renovated 18-hole 1,720 yard championship golf course which spreads across rolling hills and woods. At each hole, golfers can catch a glimpse of Lake Walden in all of its beauty. At hole two golfers can see the century barn in the background which was the original clubhouse of the Inn.

Many of the holes have a water and sandy landscape which offer a challenging yet picturesque golfing experience. Walden hosts many different golfing events for guests and its members. These events include couple tee time, holiday golf competitions and one day member guest celebrations when all members can bring one, two, or three guests to enjoy Walden for the day. Most events typically include golf, dinner and a social hour.

Walden also offers private golf lessons and clinics which are available for all players of all abilities. Clinics are offered periodically on different aspects of the game. Additionally, Walden has practice facilities for those guests and members looking to improve their game; these include a practice driving range, putting green and short range. A brand new indoor golf room with a golf simulator is also available for golf practice. This facility is perfect for those snowy days when guests can’t get outside to golf.

 

Walden offers many different activities for families and children. Walden offers private swimming lessons to both children and adults and also have a swim team for children who fall in love with swimming and want to compete, as a Walden member, in swim meets at Walden and on the road.

The swimming pool is designed for the entire family. The pool has a shallow area for the kids and several fountains that children can play in to splash and soak one another. Adults can use the lap lane if they would like to work out or can lounge by the pool in a comfy lounge chair. Walden also offers golf and tennis lessons for children and adults.

Walden’s Tots’ Tennis Program helps children develop hand-eye coordination and learn proper stroke formation. As children improve they can move into higher levels and learn stroke technique and footwork fundamentals.

Walden also offers golf programs for ages 6 to 16 that cover all golf fundamentals, rules and etiquette of the game. Adults have the chance to participate in similar programs on the basic fundamentals of both tennis and golf which are tailored for their age group.

There is also a fitness center in the Walden clubhouse for those individuals looking to work out during their stay. The fitness center has everything from a weight circuit area, a cardio room with resistance training machines and treadmills to a movement studio where professional instructors offer yoga, Pilates and aerobics classes.

For guests who love cards and games, head to the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms and the main dining room and mixed grille. Here one can find tables set up for games like duplicate bridge, gin rummy, and mah jongg. Poker night takes place monthly in the Bogey bar and family movie nights are offered weekly in the Walden Theatre, so make sure you check out the club calendar of events.

 

Walden offers both indoor and outdoor wedding packages. For outside weddings, the Inn coordinates receptions on the spacious garden lawn, setting up a large white tent or private seating area where guests can see the surrounding Western Reserve.

For indoor weddings, Walden offers spectacular banquet rooms, dining rooms, patios and a 100-seat theater. Guests can also reserve the entire Inn for their wedding party or any special event to make the experience as intimate and special as possible.

When Walden was built in 1970 they made it their mission to minimize their environmental footprint. All buildings and homes on the compound use the latest and greatest energy saving technologies and have been designed to maximize the use of solar energy.

All homes are modestly sized and feature low maintenance natural siding, energy efficient windows, multiple heating and cooling zones, and fireplace covers. The landscape and roads were designed around the natural shape of the land to minimize clearing and stream crossings. Also, many walking paths were placed around the community to encourage exercise and environmental awareness and hundreds of acres of open space have been permanently preserved.
