Guests can choose from the Queen Anne rooms overlooking the courtyard, the deluxe rooms, or one of the staterooms and suites. There are 28 Queen Anne guest rooms at the Dromoland Castle that were built back in the mid-18th century. These rooms are about 350 square feet and can accommodate up to two people with a twin or king bed. Additional amenities of the Queen Anne room include comfy slippers and bathrobes, a Nespresso coffee maker, a television that offers both music and movies on demand, and a stocked minibar.

The hotel also offers the Deluxe room to its guests, which is a little bigger than the Queen Anne room at 420 square feet. The Deluxe room offers the same amenities as the Queen Anne rooms but comes with two double beds and overlook either the lake or the beautiful gardens.

For a more lavish stay, guests can choose to stay in one of the staterooms or penthouse suites. Each room has its own look and feel and private dining and seating area. Everything in these rooms from the intricate wood lamps to the marble covered bathroom and painted furniture is elegant and picturesque. The staterooms and penthouse suites are over 500 square feet and feature a king or two queen sized beds. These suites also include amenities like slippers, bathrobes, interactive television, and broadband internet.

The Dromoland Castle has a few dining options for its guests which include the world renowned Earl of Thomond Restaurant and the Fig Tree Restaurant. The Earl of Thomond offers a fine dining experience to guests of the castle. With an innovative yet traditional menu that uses high quality, locally sourced product and a dining experience that includes exceptional service and attention to detail, the Earl of Thomond is a fantastic place to dine during your stay.

Open for dinner, the Earl of Thomond offers menu items like roasted sea scallops served with orange and paprika puree and pimento salsa as well as a grilled fillet of Irish beef served with cabbage and a special port sauce. All dishes can be paired with a nice glass of red or white wine.

The Fig Tree Restaurant found in the Gold and Country Club onsite is open all day. The Fig Tree is a little more laid back but offers a cozy spot to enjoy a nice meal. Some dishes available at the Fig Tree Restaurant include the Fig Tree Club sandwich made with bacon, lettuce, chicken, tomato and egg mayonnaise, a fish and chip platter, and pasta served with spiced chorizo, tomatoes and peppers. If guests are craving something sweet, the Fig Tree restaurant has ice cream, citrus cheese cake, and warm toffee fudge cake to satisfy the sweet tooth.

The castle also offers afternoon tea from one o’clock in the afternoon to 4:30 pm every day and freshly baked pastries and breads. During the holiday season, festive afternoon teas can be sipped or if preferred, egg nog and mulled wine.

For guests looking to host a private party at the Dromoland Castle, the drawing room can be rented for parties and private dining. As for guests who would rather enjoy a meal in the comfort of their room, room service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the castle.

If guests would like to venture off the estate, there are also plenty of restaurants and bars in county Clare. Some highly reviewed restaurants include the Linnane’s Lobster Bar, the VL Restaurant, which serves the finest French food in the area, and Stonecutters Kitchen for a nice hearty lunch. When it comes to bars, county Clare is full of them. Some local favorites include Gus O’Connor’s Pub, located in Doolin, a coastal village County Clare and Kenny’s Bar. Gus O’Connor’s offers live music, great food and drink and is located steps away from the Doolin Pier where the ferries go to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. The Dromoland Castle is happy to host weddings as we all as corporate and private events for those who are interested in having them at the castle.

For weddings, the Dromoland Castle offers the bride and groom the walled garden, lawn, and rose garden venue, the Terrace room, the Drawing room, the Brian Boru Hall, or Kincora Gallery for the ceremony and reception. The Terrace room overlooks the walled garden, the Drawing room is perfect for a smaller guest list, and the Kincora Gallery has a beautiful patio area for a relaxed, flower-filled reception. To ease the stresses of wedding planning, the Dromoland Castle has a wedding coordinator on staff that can answer all questions and provide any additional information the bride and groom may be looking for. Also, the Castle’s executive chef and cooking staff is available to create the perfect wedding menu for the special day.

Dromoland Castle is also available to host other events like corporate meetings and conventions. The conference center at Dromoland has thirty-foot-high ceilings, extravagant mahogany arched doorways, and plenty of space for groups of varying sizes. Many firms and groups utilize the space for product launches, exhibitions, business seminars, banquets and events like fashion shows and plays. All spaces have WIFI and exceptional sound and visual aids.

The Dromoland Castle has a luxurious spa onsite that includes an outdoor hydro pool, six different treatment rooms, and two manicure and pedicure rooms. Guests of the spa can treat themselves to a variety of facials, like the plantomer facial which is known to enhance the skin’s texture and maximize hydration or the firming facial which works to rebuild and strengthen the skin.

Guests can also request a body exfoliating treatment, a de-ageing wrap, or a variety of massages like a full body, deep tissue or head, neck, and scalp massage. Guests can pamper themselves for thirty minutes or a few hours at the spa. The spa also offers make up application and hair styling services as well. Booking an appointment in advance is recommended.

Golf lovers will be happy to know that the Dromoland Castle has one of the best 18-hole golf courses in the country on-site. The Dromoland Golf and Country Club is the perfect golf course to get introduced to Irish style golf and offers specials throughout the week for affordable rounds of golf. The Dromoland Golf and Country club is also a great spot for groups and corporate employees to bond and take part in some friendly competition.

There is plenty to do and see in county Clare and neighboring counties. Guests of the Dromoland Castle can enjoy nature walks, hiking, and horseback riding, or go fishing and clay shooting if they are looking for a different kind of thrill. With over 400 acres of land, the Castle estate is a wonderful area to explore on foot or by bike. The estate includes two public gardens, a natural gallery, a few working gardens, and a lily pond. Alongside the natural gallery, guests will see over 60 yew trees and a beech tree that is one of the oldest in Ireland. The estate includes many paths and walkways that lead to peaceful and picturesque corners of the estate.

For those who love horses, horse riding is an option at the Dromoland Castle. Guests can book a guided tour and enjoy the outdoors on horseback. For those who would rather travel by horse drawn carriage, the Dromoland Castle offers an hour long guided tour of the estate that includes an overview of the history of the castle and the estate.

Fishing trips are also available out of the Dromoland Castle. The lough nearby is full of fish and guests are free to fish from the banks of the lake or they can choose to hop on a fishing boat for a half day fishing trip and learn a thing or two out on the water with a fishing expert.

Another activity that is popular at the castle is clay pigeon shooting. Guests will not be shooting real birds or pigeons but will practice their aim, timing and concentration as the fake birds fly overhead. This sport is available for guests of all ages. Guests are sure to have fun and experience something new while staying at the Dromoland Castle.
