If you are looking to furnish a new home or refresh your current décor, High Point in North Carolina is the place to go. Known as the “Home Furnishings Capital of the World”, the city boasts an unbeatable selection of home décor and furniture outlets. Once you are done shopping you can enjoy a variety of High Point attractions including the popular Butterfly Farm and the High Point Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts can go hiking along the 11-mile trail at the Piedmont Environmental Center or enjoy a round of golf at one of several golf courses. When you have worked up a thirst you can visit the Goofy Foot Taproom and Brewery or the Brown Truck Brewery to sample local craft beers. It’s rumored that Becky and Mary’s Restaurant serves the best southern soul food in the region. Certain attractions may be temporarily closed or require advance reservations. Some restaurants are currently offering pickup only. Hours/availability may have changed.

Families can learn all there is to know about the wonderful world of butterflies at the All-a-Flutter Butterfly Farm. The farm endeavors to teach visitors about the importance of habitat preservation so that butterflies do not join the long list of creatures on the endangered list due to habitat destruction. Visitors can get up close to these beautiful creatures and learn all about their life cycle, what they eat and why we need them. After you have watched a presentation and met the butterflies (wear bright clothes to attract them and never use bug spray when you visit) you can enjoy a picnic on the farm and perhaps take home your own Caterpillar Castle (April – June) so that you can “hatch” your own butterflies at home.
