After a very successful 2018 edition, which saw more than 95 galleries attend from 30 different countries, the 2019 Art New York show is set to be even bigger and better than ever before. Visiting Art New York
If you'd like to attend Art New York and get a closer look at the countless incredible, inspiring pieces on display, there's some important information you'll need to know. As previously stated the Art New York show for 2019 is being held at Pier 94. Pier 94 is situated over on the west side of Manhattan, looking out over the Hudson River. This area is easily reached by car or public transport. You can take a taxi from anywhere in the city to get to Pier 94 or use buses and subways, with the closest subway station being four blocks away at 50th St and 8th Ave. A free shuttle service will also be running from the Frieze Ferry on 35th Street by the East River directly to the Art New York show at Pier 94.
Art New York will be held from May 2 to May 5 of 2019. It's important to note, however, that part of the first day of the event, May 2, is exclusively reserved as a VIP-only period. From 2pm until 5pm on May 2, only Art New York VIP cardholders, as well as TEFAF NY VIP cardholders, Sotheby's Preferred cardholders, Frieze VIP cardholders, and invited members of the press may attend the show. From 5pm to 8pm, however, the doors open for general admission. Art New York will then be open from 12pm onwards on May 3, 4, and 5. The show closes its doors at 8pm on May 3 and 4, closing earlier at 6pm on May 5.
Attending Art New York
When you arrive at Art New York, the doors will be opened to an endless array of possibilities and experiences, with dozens of galleries houses at various stands up and down the pier. Full floorplans will be available both online and at the show, allowing you to easily navigate the showfloor and locate any particular galleries or artists you're interested in exploring. Near the entrance, you'll find the box office and information desk to learn more about the show. A cafe and cocktail bar will also be located in this area, as well as a kids corner.
You'll then find the various exhibitions laid out in a neat fashion proceeding up and down the pier, with various designated 'Context' areas shedding light on emerging talents and new galleries, as well as many exhibitions and stands focusing on established galleries and artists of international renown. The VIP lounge is located in a central position along the show floor with the Butterfield Market cafe serving a range of food and drinks at the far end.

Anyone attending Art New York will need to show a ticket to gain entry to the show floor. The standard option is a one-day fair pass, which costs $25 for an adult and offers full entry to the show for a single day. This is a good ticket option to choose if you're only interested in select galleries and don't plan on spending too much time exploring the entire show floor.
If you prefer to take your time and revisit areas to really reflect and consider individual galleries and pieces, a multi-day fair pass might be a better option. Priced at $55, this ticket offers full entry into the Art New York show for its full duration, meaning you can go in and out as you please through all general admission periods from May 2 through to May 5. If you plan on attending the show with children, all those aged under 12 will be allowed to enter for free, while students aged from 12-18 will pay a reduced entry fee of just $15 for a one-day pass.
