In Provincetown is a 200 year old building that houses a communal dining room facing the downtown area and a backyard that connects to Cape Cod Bay. This is Provincetown’s New England eatery where patrons can sample Cape Cod favorites made from nothing but high-quality ingredients - a combination that innovates classic seafood with American fare.
In fact, all of the Canteen’s seafood are locally sourced. Their lobsters are shucked by hand each day. Their bar also features shellfish and oysters from Provincetown. In addition, their french fries are all made from scratch with their own potatoes from Maine.
They also have a wide selection of desserts. The ones that come highly recommended are the New York Cheesecake, the Blueberry Cheesecake, and the Opera.
But more than just the food, The Canteen offers an environment that caters to people of all ages and walks of life. The atmosphere is welcoming for locals and tourists alike to match the fact that there’s something for everyone on the menu. Because of this, it has become a special place to dine in Provincetown.
