The Bay Spirit was constructed in 2001 by Cooper Marin in Saint Petersburg, Florida. This sixty-three foot catamaran can reach a top cruising speed of twenty-two knots. The Florida Aquarium first used the boat for dolphin viewing tours. It was later purchased in 2009 by Jake and Bob Kohl, and is now used for cruises around the harbor of Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Aboard the Bay Spirit is plenty of space on the deck, both in the back and front. There's also a salon with several blankets for those wanting to escape the cold on chilly nights. A full bar on board is stocked with both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. For first-time visitors to the Cape, or for locals with family or friends in town, a cruise in the harbor is a great way to see the area. Bay Spirit Tours offers several different kinds of cruises.

Bay Spirit Tours' seventy-five minute long Lighthouse Harbor Tour passes by a Brant Point Light replica in the Inner Harbor of Hyannis. The tour then continues to Great Island's Point Gammon Light. From here tour-goers can see the navigational tower at Bishops and Clerks as the boat makes its way to Hyannisport to view the Kennedy Compound. The Bay Spirit ends the tour by passing by Hyannis Harbor Light as it returns to Hyannis Inner Harbor. During the Lighthouse Harbor Tour, a knowledgeable tour guide explains the history of the area's local lighthouses, as well as the harbor's history, dating back to the 1800's.

Another choice of cruise aboard the Bay Spirit is the Music Cruise. This ninety minute cruise is more scenic and relaxing, and features music by Brian Sances, a local musician in Cape Cod. The cruise, not a narrated tour, happens every Tuesday night. There is bar below deck offers snacks, soft drinks, cocktails, wine, and beer. The Sunset Cruise is another relaxing option, and lasts about seventy-five minutes. Hyannis Harbor is a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Hyannis Port. Light music is played during the cruise, and the only narration is pointing the Kennedy Compound.
