The quaint town of Blue Hill, nestled between a protective arm of the Blue Hill Bay and Blue Hill Mountain, is an idyllic escape to a calm, quiet, and scenic retreat. Along with the gorgeous green and blue vistas, a main draw of the area is boating in the calm Blue Hill Bay. The town today is a vibrant one home to craftspeople and artists, small shops, delicious food, and a relaxing setting. In addition to fun on the water, hiking is a very popular outdoor activity in Blue Hill, particularly on the Blue Hill Mountain. Blue Hill Mountain is an excellent destination in Blue Hill, Maine for hiking enthusiasts. Seven different trails converge on the summit, which offers expansive views of the coast. The trails range from easy to challenging, with the Hayes Trail perhaps being the most difficult, with a climb up a stone stairway and a steep slope. For an easier hike through the forest, visitors can choose the Becton Trail or the Osgood Trail, both an easy to moderate hike. The Becton Trail in particular offers views of the Great Pond Mountain and Toddy Pond, while the Osgood Trail is just one mile long.
