Ideally located just an hour from the popular tourist destination of Baton Rouge, Zachary offers visitors a unique blend of small-town charm, delicious Southern food and a variety of interesting attractions. The town was established back in the 1880’s and has a well-preserved historic village which is home to a number of buildings which survived a devastating town fire in 1903. Close to town you will find the Port Hudson National Cemetery, located on the site of an important Civil War battle. There are a number of outdoor attractions including golf at the Copper Mill Golf Course and ATV adventures at the Mudd Pits, a former open-pit mine. CDC information for travelers.
