Carnegie Building is an historic building in downtown Lawrence, constructed with a grant from American industrialist Andrew Carnegie in 1902. The building has served several purposes over the years, including use at the Lawrence Public Library until 1972. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975 and is one of Lawrence's most recognizable landmarks today. Since 2011, the building has been managed by the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and is available for public special event use, including wedding ceremony and reception rentals.
