The interior of the restaurant looks much the same as it did when it first opened, and much of the menu is the same as well. Jim's Original was first established in 1939, and it's still one of the most popular hot dog stands in the city. It's best known as the home of the original Maxwell Street Polish sausage sandwich, which has been served here for more than 70 years and comes topped with grilled sweet onions and mustard.
