Hawaii is one of the most beautiful and desirable vacation destinations on Earth. It's home to some of the most stunning scenery anyone could hope to find in the United States, as well as boasting incredibly warm temperatures and lots of sunshine all through the year. Hawaii is also well known for its unique culture, fascinating past, and friendly natives, who always welcome new visitors to their home and are happy to share their love of 'Aloha' culture with as many people as possible.

When heading to Hawaii, many people want to see as much of the islands as possible, and one of the best ways to do this is to plan out different day trips to enjoy from your chosen destination. If you're staying on the island of Maui, home of Haleakala National Park, the stunning Hana Highway, and the gorgeous beach of Kapalua, there are plenty of day trips you can organize. Here are some of the best Maui day trips for your and your fellow travelers to enjoy. CDC information for travelers. Hours/availability may have changed.

1.Maui Day Trip to the Upcountry

The Upcountry is considered to be the 'off the beaten track' part of Maui that many tourists simply don't take the time to go and see. This is where you can find a lot of hidden gems and a more authentic glimpse of Maui life than you could hope to see in the more touristic locations.

You'll see plenty of farmland here, having options to visit an island winery or distillery, or even take a farm tour. You'll be able to learn all about the 'paniolo', also known as Hawaiian cowboys. One of the best places to learn more about the paniolo is to stop off at Makawao, a real-life Hawaiian cowboy town, and anyone heading to the Upcountry should stop off at Paia as well for some great restaurants, bars, and shops.

The likes of bamboo forests, waterfall groves, sandy beaches, and ocean views will greet you along this extraordinary scenic drive. Hawaii is famous for its volcanoes. There aren't actually any active ones on the island of Maui, but Haleakala is still a hugely impressive sight. It stands at an astonishing elevation of 10,023 feet and isn't actually too difficult to climb, with a couple of different walking trails to follow.

Once you get to the top, you can descend down into the crater, and there's a visitor center near the summit as well, which is a lovely place to watch the sunrise. The temperatures at the summit can get immensely hot, however, and the air is quite thin up there, so be sure to stay hydrated and be prepared for quite an intense experience.

This means you can head over to Honolulu in a matter of minutes from Kahului or Kapalua airport on Maui and then visit the main sights of the Hawaiian capital.
