Hot springs in the state of Alaska are more plentiful than many people may expect. From the Southeast region of the state up through the Interior, and many places in between, visitors and local residents alike have many different hot springs to choose from for a relaxing place to unwind. The biggest problem people may have with the Alaska hot springs, however, is accessibility. As with many of the natural wonders of Alaska, they aren’t necessarily always easily accessible. While there are several off-the-beaten-path hot springs, there are a number that can be accessed with ease. Certain attractions may be temporarily closed or require advance reservations. Hours/availability may have changed.

Known best for the privately owned hot springs pools, Interior Alaska’s Manley Hot Springs offers a surprise oasis near the end of Elliott Highway. Around the same time, the U.S. Army arrived in the area to establish a telegraph station and a trading post for miners was soon set up in the nearby Tofty and Eureka mining districts. Manley Hot Springs is still a small settlement today.
