Around only ten miles from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta, Dunwoody is home to an endearing culture, abundant shopping, award-winning restaurants and more. This northern Atlanta suburb became a city rather recently in 2008, however, its history as a European settlement dates back to the 1830’s. Civil War veterans settled in what is now Dunwoody, which is named after the Confederate Major Charles Dunwody. Dunwood, Georgia has also become a destination for both the performing and visual arts, home to the Stage Door Players theater company and the Spruill Center For The Arts.
