Located in the heart of Gwinnett County, Duluth is a suburb of Atlanta. Although the town is close to Atlanta it offers visitors a far more relaxed suburban feel and plenty of outdoor green spaces for recreation. One of the town’s premier attractions is the sprawling Southeastern Railway Museum, a must-see for families. To get out and about in the great outdoors you can visit the McDaniel Farm Park or Bunten Rd Park, both of which have scenic trails. You can attend a music concert or hockey game at the Infinite Energy Stadium or visit the 2 Smith Art Gallery to see works by local and national artists. There are several restaurants to visit when you’ve worked up an appetite. CDC information for travelers. Hours/availability may have changed.

Mc Daniel Farm Park is situated on a real cotton farm which dates back to the 1930’s. Although the farm is now operated as a park, many of the historic structures and equipment have been restored and are on display for the public to visit. These include a furnished farmhouse, a carriage house, barn and blacksmith shed. To learn more about farming in the 20th century you can join one of the guided farm tours offered from Tuesday to Saturday. Besides the historic elements of the farm, the park provides an important outdoor recreation facility where you can go walking/running around a picturesque 3 mile trail. Sugo is without doubt one of the most popular restaurants in the Duluth area. The restaurant is family run and serves the kind of genuine home-style Italian food that your nonna would have made, had you been Italian. The menu features an excellent variety of appetizers (including their legendary Meatball al Sugo), salads and entrees. Their pasta dishes are house-made from scratch and are hand to beat – regular guests rave about Aunt Lena’s Chicken and the Scallops Piccata. You can accompany your meal with a delicious wine from their large range of wines served by the glass. The dessert menu is also amazing and well worth the additional kilojoules.
