Set on an old plantation encompassing approximately 2,300 acres, this Abbey church and beautiful monastery grounds provide a chance for reflection and solitude. Visitors are welcome at the grounds of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit seven days a week, while the Visitor Center is open from 10:00am until 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday. The Monastic Heritage Center includes a Prayer Walk, Bonsai Nursery, and the Abbey Store and Cafe.

Situated a little less than thirty miles outside of Atlanta in Conyers, the 1,400-acre Georgia International Horse Park is the home of many sporting and equestrian events, in addition to concerts, car shows, festivals, fairs, and other special events. During the 1996 Olympic Games, this massive complex was the host of the equestrian events, as well as the modern pentathlon’s final two events and the first mountain bike competition of the Olympic Games. The Georgia International Horse Park is comprised of the Rockdale County Master Gardener Arboretum, mountain bike trails, horse trails, and the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center.

Nestled among Rockdale County’s rolling hills, within the boundaries of the Georgia International Horse Park, the Cherokee Run Golf Club is considered to be a “destination golf course.” Designed by Ed Seay and Arnold Palmer, the golf course opened to the golfers of the Conyers community and the world beyond in 1995. The thickly wooded, rolling golf course gets its name of “Cherokee Run” from the land being occupied by Cherokee Indians for centuries, and numerous arrowheads were found during its construction. Surrounded by nature, the championship 18-hole Cherokee Run Golf Club is a 72 par course.
