Managed by the Veterans Administration and spanning across almost eight hundred acres, the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia is the 123rd National Cemetery established in the United States. Dedicated on Jun 4th of 2006, the cemetery serves as the final resting place for eligible servicemen. Visitors will find computer-driven kiosks that can direct them to any of the cremation urn sites, cremation burial sites, and grave sites. There is also a Visitors Center at the end of the entrance road that houses kiosks, information about the Georgia National Cemetery and a map of the cemetery grounds, and bathrooms.

2.Hickory Log Creek Reservoir, Canton, GA

The Hickory Log Creek Reservoir encompasses more than four hundred acres when it’s at full pool, surrounded by a 150-foot buffer and around fifteen miles of shoreline. The public access area of the reservoir can be found near the intersection of Fate Conn Road and Bluffs Parkway in Canton. Open year-round to the general public, the Hickory Log Creek Reservoir is a popular spot in town among rowing and fishing enthusiasts, with the public access offering a gravel parking area and a boat ramp. There is a fee to park and the parking area can get crowded on the weekends.

The Canton Theatre has been one of the premiere places for entertainment for more than one hundred years in the community of Canton, Georgia. This historic theater started out showing silent movies and slides as early as the year 1911 and was later renamed as “The Bonita” after changing owners during the 1920’s. After being bought by the Martin-Thompson Theatre Company in the late part of the 1930’s, the theater became known as the Canton Theatre and underwent many improvements. The theatre today still stands as a lasting fixture of the community, hosting both traveling and local productions and entertainment.
