Norwegian Sun was constructed to give its guests a wide range of dining and entertainment options. The 2,000-passenger ship entered service in 2001 offering voyages to Alaska, Western Caribbean, Pacific Coast, and the Panama Canal. The ship has nine different restaurants, two swimming pools and an onboard casino.

For active travelers, there is a fitness center, Jogging/Walking Track, a separate Jogging Track, a Basketball/Volleyball Court, a Baseball Batting Cage, and a Golf Driving Net. The ship also has spa facilities where guests can relax and enjoy a therapeutic treatment.

Kids can spend time at the Kid's Korner, a specialized center which offers activities to children based on their age group. The ship has a Video Zone, Splashes Kid's Pool and Teen Club serving as a teen center by day and a teen disco by night.

Guests can choose from numerous dining options, including Pacific Rim / Asian Fusion food at the East Meets West restaurant, serving fresh lobster, fish and meat ($10 per person cover charge plus a la carte pricing for certain items). Four Seasons Main features a changing menu and attentive service.

Ginza Japanese Restaurant is an elegant dining venue featuring a sushi bar, teppanyaki room and sushi / sashimi sit-down section. Il Adagio, serving Northern Italian cuisine, has floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views ($10 per person cover charge). Las Ramblas Tapas Bar serves cuisine with influences from Spain, Middle East and Mexico.

Le Bistro is a French-style cafe serving a mix of traditional specialists and inventive signature dishes ($10 per person cover charge).

Pacific Heights features healthy food options, including creative low-calorie deserts, for guests who want to follow a special diet on their cruise vacation. The Seven Seas serves contemporary cuisine incorporating fresh new flavor combinations as well as Cooking Light ® choices.

Garden Cafe serves casual fare, including breakfast omelettes prepared "on-the-spot", regional dishes, fresh fruit, cheese, pasta salad, and meat and poultry. The cafe remains open 24 hours a day. Great Outdoor Cafe, open 24 hours, serves a selection of soups, salads, burgers, and desserts.

In addition to the numerous restaurants, the cruise ship also features several lounges and bars, including the Observation Lounge, Dazzles Nightclub, Windjammer Bar, Sports Bar, The Champagne Bar, Internet Cafe, and others.

Public rooms include a library, an art gallery, Sun Club Casino, duty free shops, and Stardust Lounge, the two-story main show lounge.
