The Manor House Inn has both rooms and suites as potential accommodations.

There are seven suites available for overnight stays at the Inn - The Spofford, The Victorian, The Clemens, The English Garden, The Morgan, The Country French, and The Lincoln. The suites feature either a king size or queen size bed. Some of the larger suites have their private balconies as well. Other potential amenities include gas fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, skylights, walk-in tile showers, and comfortable sitting areas.

There are also two deluxe rooms available - the Le Chambre and the Audubon. The rooms feature an either a full or a queen size bed, and either a walk-in shower or a clawfoot shower and tub,

While the Manor House Inn does not offer meals all day, they do serve breakfast. Breakfast is made with as many fresh, local products as possible. Some of the local products used are herbs, cheese, jams, produce, eggs, and sweet maple syrup. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am with fresh coffee and tea, and food comes out to the private tables between 8:30 am and 10:00 am. Some inn guest favorites have been the french toast and the asparagus frittata. The staff at the Inn is happy to work with food allergies and preferences including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and more.

Norfolk has a wide variety of world-class music venues. There is the Infinity Hall Norfolk, which was built in 1883 and restored in 2007. The site can hold up to 300 people and holds concerts with a top-notch sound system. Infinity Hall also has a bistro-style restaurant for guests to dine at either before, during, or after a show. Another musical option is the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, which is held on both Friday and Saturday evenings in July and August. Concerts are held in the local Music Shed and feature graduate students from the local area. The festival also has free concerts Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in the summer.

Inn guests who enjoy hiking can access three different state parks as well as 6000 acres of public forest land not far from the grounds. Nearby is the Haystack Mountain State Park, Campbell Falls State Park, Dennis Hills State Park, and the Great Mountain Forest. These areas offer waterfalls, mountains, hiking trails, and more. Most trails are perfectly fine for beginning hikers or even smaller children. Parents can bring a stroller or buggy so the kids can enjoy the trails as well.

For water activities, guests can visit the local Wood Creek Pond for canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding. There is also Twin Lakes, which is set in the mountains, and famously known for its phenomenal trout fishing opportunities around the entire state of Connecticut.

There are also many diverse cultural activities. The Norman Rockwell Museum is a family favorite, as is the Berkshire Botanical Garden. Guests can also visit the Harney and Sons Tea Room, which is the same tea that is served daily with breakfast.


There are many shopping areas in the Norfolk area. While the area is known for unique antiquing opportunities, there are also a variety of craft shops, outlet malls, bookshops, and art galleries. There is the Housatonic Trading Company, with antiques, fine art, and a pastry shop, or nearby Woodbury, which has been given the nickname of the “antique capital of the state.” Inn guests can spend hours wandering through the shops.

Wine Tastings

One of the things the local area is known for is a different amount of wine offerings. The Manor House is nicknamed "the wine trail" because of the many wine offerings visitors may explore. Sunset Meadow Vineyards is one of the best, recently making the list of the top 101 Wineries in the United States. The vineyard is open year-round and offers chocolate pairings. Another local winery is also the first that was established in the state of Connecticut, Haight Brown Vineyard. This vineyard is also open year-round and offers both cheese and chocolate pairings as well as wine education classes.
