The Henry Carter Hull Library came to be in 1910 when a group of twelve young women decided to organize and incorporate the Clinton Public Library Association. They started with 925 books on the second floor of the Eliot Building, above the Clinton National Bank. Eventually, their collection enhanced as did their need for a larger space; Henry Carter Hull, who was the bank president, and his family over the years have made significant contributions to ensure that the library grew into the magnificent establishment it is today. Their easiest trail, the Bougie Trail, is an easy walk and spans close to half a mile. Their most challenging trail, the Burnham Trail, runs .45 miles long and involves climbing up steep terrain.
