The building was transformed into a history museum in 1970. Displays at the museum include a school room, a Mining Room, a replica of Main Street, the Mountain Submarine, and a variety of special exhibits throughout the year that all relate to the colorful history of the county.

» Knights of Pythias Cemetery
The Knights of Pythias Cemetery is the final resting place of a number of members of the Knights of Pythias, the first fraternal organization in the United States to receive a charter from Congress in 1894. The cemetery just outside of Central City in Black Hawk, Colorado, is home to several older graves and amazing views in the background of the famous Rocky Mountains. There is also the remnant of a mining structure on the grounds of the Knights of Pythias Cemetery as well. The creation of the organization was inspired by a play about Damon and Pythias by John Banim.
