Review & FAQ:

Marynissen Estates Winery was bought by John Marynissen in 1953. In 1976, he planted the varieties of chardonnay, Riesling, merlot, gewürztraminer, and gamay. Just two years later, what are now Canada’s oldest commercial cabernet sauvignon vines were planted. The winery became the first vineyard in the Niagara region to produce cabernet sauvignon, and now produces a range of reds, whites, and icewines. The greatest variety is in the whites, which include chardonnays, Rieslings, and the award-winning gewürztraminer. There is a smaller range of reds, but the winery is known best for its Cabernets as well as Syrahs and red blends.
