Clovis is located 6.5 miles northeast of downtown Fresno. Clovis offers a variety of attractions and activities, from shopping and dining out to outdoor recreation and entertainment for the whole family. The city boasts over 13 miles of paved pedestrian hiking and biking trails as well as several green urban parks with playgrounds for children and grassy lawns for picnicking and relaxing.

Reflecting the rich western heritage of the city’s past, the Old Town Clovis boasts a small town atmosphere with an array of amenities and entertainment from restaurants, cafés, and bars to treasure-filled antique stores, gift and souvenir shops. Visitors can enjoy walking tours of the Old Town, whose streets are beautifully maintained and lined with historic buildings, or head out on one of the scenic nature trails to the San Joaquin River, the Blossom Trail, or the Sierra Wilderness by bike or on foot. Other attractions in the Old Town Clovis include the Clovis Big Dry Creek Historical Society Museum, which tells the story of the 1925 robbery of the First National Bank of Clovis, a year-round Saturday Morning Farmers Market and a seasonal Friday Night Farmers Market that sell fresh produce, delectable food and family-friendly entertainment such as live music and special events.

3.Sierra National Forest, Clovis, CA

Sierra National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located on the western slope of central Sierra Nevada in Central California. Bordered by the Kings Canyon National Park on the south and Yosemite National Park on the northwest, the Sierra National Forest spans more than 1,300,000 acres with altitudes ranging from 900 to 13,986 feet in elevation. Renowned for its incredible natural resources and breathtaking mountain scenery, the terrain includes undulating oak-covered foothills, densely forested middle slopes and tundra landscape of the High Sierra. The forest comprises several scenic attractions, including Nelder Grove, Fresno Dome, and several reservoirs for fishing such as Courtright Reservoir, Bass Lake, and Wishon Reservoir. The forest also provides excellent hiking trails and ski slopes in the winter months.

Located in Clovis at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Fresno, Wild Water Adventure Park is a 52-acre family-owned and operated water park with a range of water-based fun activities for children of all ages and their families. The park opened to the public in 1974 and has been providing water-fun for more than 44 years with swimming pools, water slides and rides, fast rides and more. Located on 52 shady acres of grassy grounds, the water park is home to the largest kiddie pool in California, along with 20 attractions and 38 different kinds of water slides, private cabanas throughout the park that can be rented, tree-lined grass areas, fishing lakes, sports fields, and barbeque areas.

5.Clovis Botanical Garden, Clovis, California

The Clovis Botanical Garden is a beautifully maintained three-acre water-wise demonstration garden featuring a variety of drought-resistant plants and cacti that thrive in the hot summers and cold winters of California’s Central Valley and a modern information center that offers guided garden tours. Founded by Gordon Russell in 1993, the Clovis Botanical Garden is bordered by Dry Creek Trail and Dry Creek Park and sustained by the community and maintained by dedicated volunteers. The Clovis Botanical Garden is open Wednesday through Sundays at various hours and has an information center and gift shop that are open to the public during garden hours.

The brewery’s beers are available to taste and purchase at the facility, as well as several stores around the city. Other favorite brews in the range include Blonde Bomber, Black Rye IPA, Shrapnel IPA, and Valor IPA. Tactical Ops Brewing is open in the afternoon and evenings, Wednesdays through Sundays.

7.Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch

Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch is an equestrian center and ranch that provides equestrian-based therapy in the form of therapeutic riding. The farm focuses on promoting therapeutic riding as a valid form of treatment for children with disabilities, as well as encouraging and developing community awareness of equine assisted/ facilitated therapy. Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch also hosts special events and fundraisers throughout the year such as live music and more.
