Mount Pisgah Arboretum presents a range of educational programs for all ages ranging from Discovery Tours Program, Walks and Workshops, Interactive Educational Experiences, and Nature Guides.

The Discovery Tours Program exposes students to the natural world through seven miles of manicured trails that meander through forests, meadows, riparian areas, highlighting some of the best examples of Southern Willamette Valley native ecosystems. Students hike the trails with highly trained, enthusiastic nature guides who share their knowledge by exploring the environment, through hands-on activities and stimulating discussions.

The Walks and Workshops program provide engaging educational opportunities led by local experts and passionate educators and cover topics such as basket weaving, bird watching, wildflower identification, and lichen ecology. Interactive Educational Experiences aims to change the world by reconnecting people with nature through interactive and immersive experiences.

Mount Pisgah Arboretum hosts an array of events and festivals throughout the year, including the annual Mushroom and Wildflower Festivals. Delighting the community for more than 30 years, both Festivals feature beautiful displays of wildflowers in the spring and mushrooms in the fall, with experts and docents on hand to share their knowledge and answer questions. The festivals feature live music, raffles, and children’s activities, and sells a variety of plants, as well as other goodies such as books, arts, clothing, food and educational materials.

Mount Pisgah Arboretum is located at 34901 Frank Parrish Road in Eugene and is open Monday through Friday from 10: 00 am until 4:00 pm and admission are free. Facilities at the Mount Pisgah Arboretum include a wooded picnic area, a public water system, restrooms, a modern visitor’s center and the White Oak Pavilion, which is available for weddings, parties, and other social gatherings. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the Arboretum, which delve into the ecology and history of the area.

The Arboretum Visitor Center serves as a base for the Arboretum’s educational programs and workshops, including spring and fall Discovery Tours for elementary school classes, walking tours and workshops. The Center also features a working viewable bee hive, a native amphibian and reptile terrarium, tactile exhibits, microscopes for exploring tiny seeds and bugs, and reference books.

Mount Pisgah Arboretum’s beautiful White Oak Pavilion offers a beautiful location for romantic weddings and other special celebrations. The 3,000-square foot Pavilion features large glass sliding doors that slide back to seamlessly blend interiors with the oak savannah landscapes and peaceful scenery of the Arboretum. The building is readily available for suppliers, caterers, musicians, and guests and rental of the Pavilion includes day and evening use of both the building and the surrounding lawns.
