Dickerson Park Zoo is a zoological park that is home to more than 500 animals that represent more than 160 different species. Located in North Fort, Springfield, the Dickerson Park Zoo was established in 1922 with the mission of encouraging conservation, education, and research in the zoological field, as well as creating a family-friendly recreation park for the community to enjoy.
Dickerson Park Zoo offers visitors up-close adventures and encounters with hundreds of animals from around the world and features a variety of habitats and exhibits. Habitats include ‘Tropical Asia’ which is home to a range of animals from the East, including elephants, tigers, and siamangs, and ‘Missouri Habitats’ features animals that can be found in Missouri, such as mountain lions, wolves, black bears and river otters.
