Paris is for lovers. Food lovers, that is. Despite the fact that its 41 square miles are bursting with over-laden market stalls and produce purveyors, the question for many is, “What can I make with all these amazing ingredients?”
To answer this question, Cook’n with Class culinary school opened its doors just steps from the Jules-Joffrin metro station at the top of Montmartre. Since its debut in a one-room studio in 2007, the English language culinary education center has taught over 30,000 students through a variety of classes in French desserts, wine, foie gras, bread, croissants and others.
The school’s friendly, convivial atmosphere and small class sizes quickly inspire you to pursue your own passion in culinary arts.
Booking a Course
Of course, you could take a single class and learn enough to make interesting conversation at a dinner party and a few special creations that showcase your new skills, but why? Cook’n with Class provides you with an opportunity to immerse yourself in the historic French food culture and rub shoulders with the city’s gastronomic elite.
Choose from a menu of classes that includes categories of French cooking, French baking and desserts, food and wine pairing, cheese and wine pairing, chocolate making, and seasonal cooking. Pricing varies per class.
At Cook’n with Class, you’ll learn kitchen essentials, indulge your inner oenophile, test your Paris market skills, and savor chocolates all in the same week. There are multiple daily classes offered, so you will not only be able to pick your preferred course, but also indulge your inner foodie.
Courses are limited to between six and eight students in order to encourage the maximum amount of hands-on experiences. During each class, you’ll be guided by professional chefs and shown how to cook classic French fare that you can later recreate at home for your friends and family.
Wine classes can accommodate up to ten students per class. Private courses are also available.
Pre-Paid Multi-Course Packages
Cook’n with Class offers pre-paid packages that include multiple discounted courses. You can select from among three class, five class, or ten class packages that encourage you to dive mouth first into the culinary arts of l’hexagon. You have a full year to complete the classes in your pre-paid package.
Once you’ve completed your reservation, you’re guaranteed a traditional aperitif and an introduction to what makes French cuisine truly remarkable – French hospitality.
If you are an epicurean who prefers to taste rather than to create, Cook’n with Class also offers food tours. You’ll meander the streets of Paris sampling some of the best food in the city. For 2.5 hours, you’ll duck into elite gourmet specialty shops, interact with shopkeepers, and learn about the origin of their food as you sample their fare.
At the end of your tour, you’ll receive a Paris Gourmet guidebook that is full of restaurant tips and useful information to help you navigate your way through the City of Lights culinary scene.
If you commit to a second round of sampling, you will be offered a discount for your continued patronage.
