Patong is a bustling beach resort town on the west coast of Phuket Island and home to the most famous beach resort on Phuket – Patong Beach. Famous for its raucous nightlife scene with beer bars, go-go bars, nightclubs, massage parlors and cabarets along neon-lit Bangla Road, Patong and its beach have developed into a real cult beach. While the nightlife is wild, during the day the beach is busy but bearable with miles of palm tree lined fine-grained, yellow sand. The water entrance is very shallow, so if you want to swim, you have to walk a few meters, and the water visibility is not great and sometimes very polluted due to the high numbers of people visiting the beach and swimming.
