Shark Tank Swimming Pool

If you are a fan of the extraordinary, go for a swim in the Shark Tank pool at the Golden Nugget. The hotel swimming pool complex built is around a massive tank area with sharks. You can get a very close view by going down the slide which cuts right through. The $30 million complex has a 3-story waterslide and 15 private cabanas as well.

The complex gets quite crowded, so it's a good idea to get there early if you want to go down the slide without having to wait in line for a long time. The private cabanas high above the tank pool will give you some privacy and a good view if you plan to spend the day.

Visitors can sign up for a Tour conducted by staff marine biologists. The tour goes behind the scenes and shows you how the 200,000 gallon shark aquarium is run. Find out how the sharks are fed and other insider tricks. Tickets are $30 per person (866-946-5336). In addition to the pool where you can see sharks, the hotel has a second, adults-only pool called the Hideout which is considerably quieter. The two-story infinity pool is great for relaxing in the sun. The Hideout has a covered lounging area, eight plush poolside cabanas and the H2O Bar which serves and drinks.

The Fremont Street Experience

Located in Downtown Las Vegas, Fremont Street features the world's largest LED screen which projects images 90 feet above the ground. A pedestrian mall under the screen features hotels, casinos and shops. Watch the Light & Sound Shows when it gets dark. During the day, there is shopping, dining and the Neon Museum which displays historical neon signs. Neonopolis is an open-air restaurant, shop and entertainment complex with a 14-screen Crown Theaters movie theater.
