With new Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas at the helm, it's a very exciting time for the Phoenix Chorale and many members of the music community are waiting with excitement and anticipation to witness the full splendor of the ensemble's 2019/20 season, which will be broken up into four concert performances:
- Lux Aeterna - Running from October 18 through to October 20 of 2019, Lux Aeterna will feature the Phoenix Chorale debut of conductor Christopher Gabbitas. This performance focuses on Fauré’s Requiem, shining the spotlight on themes of life, death, and honoring those we have lost. The show will feature guest soloists of the Phoenix Boys Choir.
- A Chorale Christmas - Christmas is always the perfect time for chamber choir music, and the Phoenix Chorale has historically produced some of the very best Christmas shows in the Phoenix area. A Chorale Christmas, featuring guest conductor Dr. André J. Thomas, will bring people together to celebrate the joy and good will of the holiday season. A Chorale Christmas will run from December 13 through to December 17.
- Cosmos - There can be something almost otherworldly about listening to the majestic, harmonious voices of the Phoenix Chorale singing as one, so it seems only fitting that the choir is focusing on space as a theme for its Cosmos show, which will run from February 28 to March 1 of 2020. Exploring a range of musical styles to approach the depths and mysteries of space, this show is sure to be out of this world.
- Birth and Rebirth - Last but not least, Birth and Rebirth will represent the first entry in the Phoenix Chorale's Phoenix Masterworks Series. Focusing on Aaron Copland's seminal classic, In The Beginning, this concert will also feature a world premier of a new work by Chorale soprano Kira Zeeman Rugen.
- Subscriptions - Those wishing to enjoy the 2019/20 season of the Phoenix Chorale need only subscribe to get the very best experiences. Subscribers can enjoy a range of benefits including front row seats, flexibility in terms of show dates and times, free ticket exchanges, ticket discounts, ticket insurance, premium add-ons, and exclusive invitations to other events. You can choose between a 3 or 4 concert subscription, as desired, and can choose all of the dates, times, and venues that work for you. website
