Hawks View Cottages and Lodges offer basic and comfortable accommodations in the form of cottages, lodges and studio suites overlooking historic Fountain City, Wisconsin. Named for their fabulous ‘hawk’s eye’ views of the of the Mississippi River and old Fountain City, the retreat features five distinct two-story cottages and one-bedroom cottages, two one-bedroom studio suites, and two lodges with two and four bedrooms, respectively.
Nestled in a thick forest on a steep wooded bluff, each adobe is comfortably furnished with cozy furnishings, modern amenities and offer fully equipped kitchens and fireplace stoves for self-catering. Hailed as the ‘River Bluff Capital of the World,’ Fountain City is the oldest settlement in Buffalo County and offers an array of attractions activities, ranging from museums, galleries, shopping and restaurants to hiking, mountain biking, visiting state and national parks and more.
Guest Accommodations
Hawks View Cottages and Lodges features five distinct two-story cottages and one-bedroom cottages, two one-bedroom studio suites, and two lodges with two and four bedrooms, respectively. Each of the five one-bedroom cottages features a queen bedroom on the second floor of the cabin and a bedroom with a pullout futon bed on the first floor. Bathrooms have walk-in showers, and whirlpool tubs for two and single vanities, and spacious sitting areas have comfy seating, fireplace stoves, televisions with DVD players for watching movies, and fully equipped kitchen with all the equipment and utensils for self-catering purposes. Cottages are air conditioned and have open-air decks and porches with tables and chairs for relaxing, and guests have access to complimentary wireless Internet.
Nestled into a hillside cedar grove overlooking the vineyards and the river valley, the Osprey Lodge is an air-conditioned, two-bedroom and two-and-a-half bath cottage that offers extra levels of privacy and seclusion. The Blackhawk Lodge is an air-conditioned four-bedroom, three-bath retreat with stunning views of the magnificent Mississippi River Valley from high on a bluff and is surrounded by 60 acres of forest and vineyard. Each cottage features comfortable beds dressed in deluxe linens, bathrooms with showers and whirlpool tubs for two, living and dining spaces with fireplace stoves, DirecTV service with DVD players, and comfy seating. Fully equipped kitchens have coffee, tea, and breakfast essentials and lodges have two private decks with beautiful views, gas grills for alfresco dining, and complimentary wireless Internet.
The Hawks View Suites - La Crescent and Marquette – are located on the upper floors of the 1870 brick landmark Seven Hawks Vineyards tasting room and boast beautiful views. Each suite features fully equipped kitchens with coffee, tea, and breakfast essentials, sitting areas with plush seating and fireplace stoves, king-size beds with deluxe linens, and en-suite bathrooms with showers and air jet tub for twos. Suites are air-conditioned and have modern amenities such as cable TVs with DVD players and complimentary wireless Internet.
