Because Cape Cod is a very popular tourist destination, it can be extremely crowded in the summer and room rates are at their highest. The best times to visit Cape Cod are the spring months of April and May, and the fall months of October and November. The crowds have left; the room rates go down; and the weather is pleasant enough to enjoy many different kinds of outdoor activities.

The least number of visitors and the lowest room rates occur during the winter season, but it can be a little too cold for visitors. In addition, many businesses close early or close down completely during the winter.
